Seatrium readies two new FPSOs for Petrobras' Búzios field

Seatrium is gearing up to deliver two new FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading units) to Petrobras for its Búzios field in Brazil. The P-80 and P-82 units are expected to arrive at the site within weeks of each other, adding a combined 450,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil production capacity.

The FPSOs were christened on August 27th at Seatrium's Tuas Boulevard Yard in Singapore. Each unit can produce up to 225,000 bpd of oil and process 12 million cubic meters (Mcm) of gas per day.

Petrobras' President Magda Chambriard said that with production scheduled to begin next year, the two units together will enable production from the Búzios field to increase by approximately 34%. The field has already surpassed 1.2 million bpd, making it Brazil's largest by reserves and production.

Seatrium fabricated more than 110,000 metric tons of topside modules for P-80 and P-82 across yards in Singapore, China, and Brazil before completing integration and commissioning at its Singapore facility. The FPSOs incorporate carbon capture and reinjection capabilities, energy recovery systems, and other technologies designed to reduce emissions from offshore production.
