Seatrium's P-80 and P-82 FPSO Vessels Set Sail for Brazil's Búzios Field

Seatrium Limited has celebrated the sailaway of two massive Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels, PETROBRAS 80 (P-80) and PETROBRAS 82 (P-82), which will significantly boost oil production in Brazil's pre-salt Santos Basin.

The vessels are among the largest ever built, with a combined capacity to lift Brazil's national oil production by 10%. They represent the 47th and 48th projects undertaken by Seatrium for Petrobras, solidifying their longstanding partnership spanning over three decades.

P-80 and P-82 will be deployed in the Búzios field, one of the world's largest deepwater oil fields. Each vessel is designed to produce 225,000 barrels per day (bopd) and process 12 million cubic meters of gas per day, placing them among the largest FPSOs in the world.

Magda Chambriard, President of Petrobras, stated, 'Along with the oil they will produce, these platforms will bring to Brazil the results of a strong partnership between Petrobras and Seatrium, between Brazil and Singapore, and they are further proof of just how fruitful this partnership has been.'

The vessels incorporate advanced technologies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce emissions, including carbon capture and reinjection capabilities. Their deployment is part of a broader program of six FPSO units that will provide approximately 1.3 million bopd of combined oil production capacity when they come onstream.
