Sempra Lands 20-Year LNG Supply Deal with Petrobras
Sempra Infrastructure has secured a major deal to supply Petrobras with liquefied natural gas (LNG) from its Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project in Texas. The agreement, which spans 20 years, will see Sempra provide around 0.8 million tonnes per year of LNG to the Brazilian energy company.
This is a significant milestone for Sempra Infrastructure, marking Petrobras as its first South American LNG customer. The deal highlights the company's expanding global footprint in the LNG market.
The Port Arthur LNG facility will see its liquefaction capacity double to approximately 26 Mtpa once Phase 2 is operational by 2030-2031. This increase in capacity will enhance U.S. LNG supply access for international markets.
