Senco Gold & Diamonds Posts Record Revenue, But Margin Pressure Mounts
Senco Gold & Diamonds posted record quarterly revenue exceeding INR 3,000 crores for the first time in Q1 FY27, driven by strong festive season demand and summer wedding season. However, consolidated profit margins compressed sharply, exposing the company's vulnerability to price volatility and competitive pressures.
The company's 67% year-over-year revenue growth was largely due to sustained customer trust and expanding demand during festive and summer wedding seasons. Managing Director & CEO Suvankar Sen attributed the performance to these factors, noting that 'consolidated revenue grew 67% YoY, building on FY26 momentum, driven by customer trust and broad demand during festive and summer wedding seasons.'
The company's strategic response to elevated gold prices centered on promoting lightweight, design-led jewelry. Diamond jewellery value grew 43% year-over-year, supported by the lower-ticket Everlite range targeting millennials and Gen-Z consumers.
