Sensex Jumps 566 Points as Brent Crude Prices Plummet
Indian stock markets made a strong rebound in early trade on July 27, 2026, as crude oil prices dropped sharply. The BSE Sensex jumped 566 points to 76,608.66, while the Nifty surged 153.60 points to 23,923.30.
The sharp decline in Brent crude prices from $102 four days ago to around $93 this morning provided a significant tailwind for India through lower inflation expectations and reduced pressure on the rupee, said Rajesh Palviya, Head of Research at Axis Direct.
Major gainers among the Sensex pack included InterGlobe Aviation, Infosys, Eternal, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finance, and Bajaj Finserv. Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank were the laggards.
