Sensex, Nifty Slide Amid Crude Oil Prices Surge Past $91
Mumbai's domestic equity benchmarks traded lower on Tuesday due to a spike in crude oil prices above $91 a barrel amid fading hopes of a US-Iran peace deal.
The Sensex declined by 365 points or 0.47 per cent, hitting an intraday low of 77,362, while the Nifty traded 76 points or 0.31 per cent lower at 24,211.
The Brent crude oil benchmark rose 0.60 per cent from the previous close to trade above $91 a barrel, putting pressure on investor sentiment.
