Serbia Secures Energy Supplies Amid European Gas Crisis
Srbijagas Director General Dušan Bajatović assured that Serbia's energy supplies are secure, despite the poor situation with gas and other energy sources in the region and Europe. Unlike many countries, which lack sufficient quantities of gas, Serbia's storage facilities are 'filled to the brim', and the company is even storing gas in Hungary.
Bajatović stressed that there will be no increase in prices for households, as the liquidity of both Srbijagas and Elektroprivreda Srbije is 'more than satisfactory'. He also pointed out that Serbia currently has the lowest gas prices in Europe and emphasized the importance of preserving the agreement with Russia.
In contrast to other countries, which are facing a shortage, Bajatović noted that Asia is starting to buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) again, leading to rising global prices. He suggested that this shortage was not an accident, but rather a deliberate move by traders to make a profit.
