Shell Q2 Earnings Surge on Higher Oil Prices and Record Brazilian Production
Shell's adjusted earnings for Q2 increased to $9.8 billion, up from $6.9 billion in Q1, driven by higher oil prices and a record production level in Brazil.
The company generated $21.4 billion in cash flow from operations during the quarter, with free cash flow totaling $17.5 billion and net debt declining to $41.8 billion from $52.6 billion at the end of Q1.
Shell's upstream business reported adjusted earnings of $3.5 billion, compared to $2.4 billion in the previous quarter, reflecting higher realized oil and natural gas prices.
The company cited record upstream production in Brazil and record refinery utilization as reasons for its strong operational performance during Q2, despite disruptions in the Middle East.
