Shell Sees 45% Boost in Global LNG Demand by 2050 Amid Middle East Volatility
Despite ongoing volatility in global markets due to the conflict in the Middle East, Shell Plc remains optimistic about the long-term demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The company forecasts a significant increase in LNG consumption, with estimates suggesting it will surge by at least 45% by 2050 compared to 2025 levels.
This projected growth is largely attributed to Asia's continued economic expansion, which is expected to remain the primary driver of global demand for LNG until at least 2050.
European nations are also likely to rely on LNG as they pursue their net zero targets and renewable energy roll-outs lag behind.
