Sibanye-Stillwater Sees Tripled Earnings as Gold Prices Soar
Sibanye-Stillwater is expecting its headline earnings per share to more than triple in the six months to end-June, thanks to higher gold and platinum group metals prices.
The miner expects headline earnings of 571c-631c for the first half of 2026, compared to 190c a year earlier.
The company's South African gold operations were a major contributor to this increase, with adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (ebitda) rising about 85%.
Sibanye attributed the higher costs in its gold production to inflation, increased royalties, and pumping expenses, which rose by 14% to R1.64m/kg.
