Silver Futures Jump Amid Global Trend and Weak Dollar

Silver prices surged in futures trade on Thursday after a surprise US Treasury liquidity-support announcement boosted the metal's appeal. The white metal for September delivery climbed by Rs 2,163 to Rs 2,38,950 per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange, a nearly 1% increase.

The gain was attributed to softer US Treasury yields and a weak dollar, which made silver more attractive to investors. This trend was reflected internationally as well, with Comex silver futures for September delivery trading 1.58% higher at $66.86 per ounce in New York.

Analysts pointed out that the decline in bond yields and the greenback's weakness contributed to the increase in silver prices.
