Silver Futures See Strong Demand Over First Weekend of 24/7 Trading
CME Group's silver futures contracts saw strong demand over the first weekend of 24/7 trading, with 2,387 out of its 100-Ounce Silver futures contracts traded. This represents an impressive notional value of over $15 million.
This development follows the successful introduction of round-the-clock trading in gold, which has led to more than 140,000 contracts being traded during weekend sessions, totaling over $600 million in notional value.
Jin Hennig, managing director and global head of metals at CME Group, noted that silver's strong performance underscores the growing demand for round-the-clock trading among participants who want to manage both investment exposure and real-world supply risk.
