Silver Price Falls Amid Near-Certainty of Quarter-Point Hike
The silver price has been falling, currently trading at around $63.72 an ounce, which is about 47.6% below its record high of $121.62 reached on January 29, 2026.
The upcoming Federal Reserve meeting on September 15-16 is being closely watched, with a quarter-point hike now priced in at roughly 85-91%, according to the CME FedWatch tool.
However, what's not clear is the positioning underneath this price. Speculative silver longs have rebuilt to the 73rd percentile of the past 60 weeks, indicating that investors are still holding onto their positions despite the falling market.
