Silver Price Jumps 0.60% on Indian Markets Amid Economic Uncertainty
The price of silver in India has increased by 0.60% on August 26th, 2026, reaching ₹247 per gram and ₹246,560 per kilogram.
This increase is driven by various factors, including the US personal consumption expenditure data and the anticipation that the US Federal Reserve will keep interest rates unchanged at its upcoming September meeting.
The lower interest rates make precious metals more appealing to investors, as they reduce the cost of holding bullion. Additionally, the recent fall in oil prices has eased inflationary concerns, providing a cushion for silver prices.
Aamir Makda, Commodity & Currency Analyst at Choice Broking, forecasts a bullish momentum for silver prices due to the softness in the dollar index and scaled-back expectations of rate hike. He predicts that if silver breaks through the resistance level of ₹248,800, it will accelerate its bullish momentum towards ₹255,000.
