Silver Price Surges Past $58 as Analysts Predict Further Gains
The current price of silver has reached $58.63 per ounce as of Tuesday, August 4, 2026, marking a 69-cent increase from yesterday's closing price and more than a $21 rise compared to one year ago.
Silver's performance over extended periods has been underwhelming, lagging traditional equities significantly since 1921. An equal investment split between silver and stocks back then would mean the silver portion would be worth approximately 96% less than the stock portion today.
Despite its volatility, silver is considered a relatively stable asset that can act as a hedge against inflation and preserve purchasing power.
