Silver Prices Eye $65 as Dovish Shift Ignites Rally
Silver prices have retreated to around $57-$58 per troy ounce after spiking earlier this year due to speculative flows and structural deficits. The market is currently consolidating within a $55-$61.30 range, with concerns over sticky inflation and potential rate hikes capping upside.
However, any dovish shift or confirmation of rate cuts could serve as the primary catalyst for silver prices to test the upper boundary of $65 an ounce. Easing tensions in the Middle East and fluctuating crude oil prices have temporarily eased inflation fears, allowing silver to settle into a consolidation phase.
Silver continues to benefit from multi-year structural deficits due to expanding applications in solar PV, electric vehicles, and high-density computing. Traders are watching for potential compression in the gold-to-silver ratio, which could cause silver to outperform gold on a percentage basis.
