Silver Prices Ignite Exploration in Ontario's Cobalt Camp
Kuya Silver and Brixton Metals are exploring old mine waste in the Cobalt mining district of northeastern Ontario, where silver prices have surged to historic highs.
The companies believe there is 'hidden value' in the discarded surface rock from turn-of-the-last-century mining activities.
At Kuya's Silver Kings project, early sampling results show significant silver mineralization, with grades reaching up to 168 grams per tonne of silver and 0.365 per cent cobalt.
Brixton Metals is also seeing promising results from its drilling program at the shuttered Langis mine, where high-grade silver assays have been returned, including one drill hole that showed 6,199 grams per tonne of silver over a one-metre length of core.
The companies plan to continue sampling and metallurgical testing before coming out with a resource estimate.
