The price of silver in Mumbai has been on an upward trend this month. As of August 19, 2026, the rate had settled at ₹2,65,900 per kilogram (KG), after fluctuating between a high of ₹2,71,100 and a low of ₹2,17,900 throughout August.
Compared to last month, July's silver price saw a downward trend, with prices falling from ₹2,61,100 on July 3 to ₹2,39,900 by the end of the month. However, in May, the market volatility pushed prices to a high of ₹3,26,100 before settling at ₹2,98,000 by the end of the month.
The purity of silver is typically expressed in fineness, with 999 fineness meaning 99.9% pure silver content. Silver purity is crucial for various uses, including jewellery and investment. The final showroom price of silver includes base price, making charges, GST, and stone deductions. Authenticity can be verified through BIS hallmarking.
