Silver Prices Rebound on Gold Rally, Weaker Dollar
Silver prices have rebounded after a sharp correction, raising hopes of a sustainable recovery. The metal has climbed nearly 20% from its recent lows in the international market, supported by a rally in gold and a weaker U.S. dollar.
The domestic market has also seen a recovery, with MCX silver prices rising from around Rs 2,15,000 per kg to nearly Rs 2,45,000 per kg during August. This rebound is attributed to renewed buying interest and optimism over demand from key sectors such as solar energy, electronics, and electric vehicles.
The strong rally in gold has provided a significant tailwind for silver prices. As both metals are widely regarded as precious assets and safe-haven investments, silver often benefits from positive sentiment in the gold market. Historically, periods of sustained strength in gold prices tend to improve sentiment across the precious metals complex, encouraging speculative and investment buying in silver.
However, investors should approach silver with caution. Despite the improving fundamentals, the metal remains highly volatile and vulnerable to sudden swings in sentiment. Therefore, silver may not be the most suitable investment for short-term horizons.
