Silver Prices Rise in India, Up 2% on Thursday
Silver prices rose in India on Thursday, breaking a flat run that had held through the first three sessions of the week. The white metal traded at ₹255 per gram, ₹2,550 per 10 grams, and ₹2,55,000 per kilogram nationwide, up ₹50 per 10 grams or roughly 2% from Wednesday's level.
The move reset the pricing map, with all ten major cities tracked converging at ₹2,550. This means buyers in previously cheaper cities now pay silver at parity with those that had commanded a premium throughout the week.
Silver prices largely follow international trends as demand and supply in India are too thin to sway prices significantly. Global spot silver firmed through Wednesday night and into Thursday's opening trade, snapping the sideways drift that had boxed in prices earlier in the week.
Analysts say the rise reflects industrial and investment demand reasserting itself after a lull. A Delhi-based trader noted that with the flat stretch broken, participants would now watch whether the gain extends into Friday or proves a one-session pop.
