Silver Prices Surge 0.83% in India Amid Dollar Weakness
Silver prices in India rose by 0.83% on August 21st, 2026, according to recent data. The price of 1 gram of silver stood at ₹246, while 10 grams and 1 kilogram of silver were priced at ₹2,460 and ₹245,980 respectively.
The increase in silver prices is attributed to a soft dollar and the US Treasury's decision to buy back bonds. This has led to increased demand for precious metals, as they become less expensive for holders of other currencies.
Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money, noted that MCX Silver opened with a gap up near ₹245,000, holding firm near multi-week highs after a sharp rally from the ₹230,000 zone. Immediate resistance is at ₹245,000-246,000, and a break above targets next resistance at ₹250,000-251,000.
Retail investors are advised to track not just domestic rates but also international trends before making buying decisions.
