Silver Prices Surge Nearly 2% in India as Global Bullion Rallies
Silver prices in India rose sharply on Monday, marking a nearly 2% gain. The national rate for silver stood at ₹2,600 per 10 grams, with the price per kilogram reaching ₹2,60,000.
The increase came despite Indian markets being shut over the weekend, as global bullion prices rallied and the rupee weakened against the dollar. Silver's industrial demand base adds an extra layer of price sensitivity compared to gold, making it more volatile in the short term.
Market participants expect silver to remain sensitive to fresh cues from the US Federal Reserve and any escalation in US-Iran tensions. Analysts tracking the gold-silver ratio said the synchronized move suggests markets are responding to the same macro drivers across both metals.
