Silver Prices Surge to $69 Amid Fiscal Concerns
Silver prices surged to $69.32 per troy ounce on August 24, 2026, up 0.47% on the day and 19.07% over the month.
The price increase comes despite a slow response from mine supply, which only rose 2.8% to an estimated 26,000 tons in 2025 from 25,300 tons in 2024.
Silver is primarily recovered as a byproduct or coproduct at lead-zinc, copper, and gold mines, accounting for more than two-thirds of US and global silver resources.
