Silver Prices to Reach $80-$85 Before Year-End, Says Peter Krauth
Peter Krauth, editor of Silver Stock Investor and author of The Great Silver Bull, believes silver prices will reach $80 to $85 by year-end. In a recent interview with Money Metals' Mike Maharrey, Krauth highlighted several factors supporting higher silver prices: strong investment demand, industrial consumption, depleted exchange inventories, and emerging technologies.
Silver has decisively broken above the $50 barrier, which previously held for 45 years. However, Krauth notes that this milestone is also a reflection of the metal's hybrid nature, with roughly half its demand tied to monetary and investment uses and the other half coming from industry. Both sides are providing strong support.
Krauth acknowledges that silver's price has not risen sooner due to large stockpiles accumulated during earlier years of oversupply. These inventories have since eroded, leading Krauth to believe depleted supplies will continue to drive prices higher.
