Silver Races to Close Gap as Gold Extends Recovery
Gold futures experienced a significant gain on Wednesday, closing at $4,447 after rising by $47 or 1.07%. This marks its recovery above several key areas of support and resistance, including the 100-day moving average and the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement.
Silver, however, had an even more impressive performance, increasing by $1.54 or 2.34%, but failed to close above its own 100-day moving average. It did manage to break through its Ichimoku cloud for the first time since August 7th and is attempting to overtake the conversion line.
The gold/silver ratio has declined by nearly 10% over the last 55 days, from a high of 72.55 on July 17th to the current value of 65.37. This indicates that silver has been playing catch-up and is nearing an important technical juncture.
