Silver Soars, Gold Slips Amid Profit-Taking Ahead of US Inflation Data
Silver prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) rose Rs 2,134 per kg to Rs 2,33,600 per kg as investors booked profits and awaited US inflation data for rate cues. This came as gold prices declined Rs 360 to Rs 1,51,461 per 10 grams.
The price movements reflect a shift in investor focus from recent gains to upcoming economic indicators. The US Consumer Price Index is scheduled for Wednesday, followed by the Producer Price Index on Thursday.
Silver's rise and gold's decline can be attributed to profit-taking following last week's sharp rally. This indicates that investors are adjusting their positions ahead of key economic releases.
