Silver Surges Past $60 Amid Oil Price Decline

Oil prices retreated on Monday, easing concerns about rate hikes and inflationary pressures. The drop in oil prices was driven by the suspension of further military actions between the United States and Iran, which reduced market risks and improved risk sentiment.

The sudden decline in oil prices sent WTI crude down approximately 5.6% during Asian trading hours, falling back to around $84 per barrel. This reduction in oil prices has tempered inflation expectations, easing worries about further rate hikes by central banks worldwide.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley stated that the U.S. president wishes to allow more time for a diplomatic solution and has therefore suspended further action. This announcement prompted markets to pare back their geopolitical risk premiums, leading some capital to flow back into the precious metals market.
