SK Innovation E&S has made history by importing condensate from Australia's Barossa gas project, marking the first time a Korean private company has brought home condensate secured through its own overseas resource development.

The 300,000-barrel cargo is expected to arrive at Incheon Port in early August and will be processed at SK Incheon Petrochem's facility. The naphtha-rich condensate is rich in naphtha, a basic feedstock for plastics and synthetic fibers, which will help stabilize Korea's naphtha supply.

SK Innovation E&S has participated in the Barossa project since 2012 and holds an equity share of 37.5%. The company imports 1.3 million tonnes of LNG per year from the project, equivalent to roughly 3% of Korea's total annual LNG imports.
