Smith and Ford Propose Southern Pipeline Compromise
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Ontario Premier Doug Ford proposed a new pipeline project last week, just after the federal government approved a bitumen pipeline through southern British Columbia to coastal ports.
This was seen as a compromise for Smith, who had been pushing for a northern route to the B.C. coast for years.
According to sources, this new pipeline would load oil onto ships in Alberta's southern region, rather than the originally proposed northern route.
