Smith Unveils Pipeline Projects and $10 Billion Data Center at Calgary Stampede
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is in the midst of her province's biggest event of the year, the Calgary Stampede. The festival has drawn hundreds of thousands to Alberta's largest city over 10 days in July, where politicians and business leaders mingle with everyday Canadians.
On Day 4 of the event, Smith will announce two oil pipeline projects and a plan from US tech giant Meta Platforms Inc. to build a $10 billion data center in Canada, its first.
Smith's itinerary is packed, with eight public appearances already scheduled for the day, including shaking hands with delegates and presenting cowboy hats.
