SNT Energy Lands $92.6 Million Contract for Hadong LNG Project
SNT Energy has secured a significant contract to supply heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) for the Hadong LNG combined-cycle power plant. The order is valued at 128.2 billion won, which is approximately $92.6 million.
The contract was awarded to SNT Energy in collaboration with Doosan Enerbility through a joint venture under a shared-execution arrangement. This project involves the conversion of an aging coal-fired power plant into a high-efficiency LNG combined-cycle plant. The existing 1,000-megawatt Hadong coal-fired units No. 2 and No. 3 will be replaced with a new LNG combined-cycle plant.
The HRSG units are critical components of LNG combined-cycle plants, as they recover heat from gas turbine exhaust to produce steam, thereby increasing overall power generation efficiency. The order is expected to boost SNT Energy's presence in the energy transition market, where there is a growing demand for coal-to-LNG conversions and modernization of generation facilities.
