Somalia Condemns Drone Attacks on Saudi Oil Facilities Amid Regional Tensions
Somalia has condemned drone attacks targeting Saudi oil facilities in recent days.
The country's federal government stated that it is concerned for civilian safety and supports measures taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
In a statement, Somalia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the security of Saudi Arabia is integral to regional stability and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, and expressed solidarity with the kingdom.
Saudi Arabia had previously reported that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed several drones launched from Iraqi territory targeting oil facilities in the kingdom. The ministry attributed the attempted attacks to Iran-backed terrorist militias.
