South Bow and Bridger Unveil New Oil Pipeline Project From Wyoming to Cushing

A joint venture between Canada's South Bow and U.S.-based Bridger Pipeline plans to develop a new oil pipeline from Guernsey, Wyoming, to Cushing, Oklahoma.

The project will utilize a corridor acquired from another company, with the companies prioritizing engagement with landowners and communities along the proposed route.

This pipeline is part of a larger effort to move oil from Alberta to the Cushing hub. A J.P. Morgan research report noted that South Bow and Bridger have acquired the right-of-way for the Liberty pipeline, which was originally intended to transport oil from the Rockies and North Dakota Bakken production areas to Cushing.

The Prairie Connector project, proposed by South Bow, aims to increase Canada's crude exports to the U.S. by over 12%. The project has secured shipper commitments, with work expected to restart in the second quarter of 2027, with the pipeline operational by the fourth quarter of 2028.
