South Pars Gas Output Hits 550 Million Cubic Meters Per Day
The South Pars Gas Field in the Persian Gulf is now producing around 550 million cubic meters of gas per day, according to Gholamreza Manouchehri, the deputy for development and engineering at the National Iranian Oil Company.
This marks an increase from last year's production, which was lower than expected due to maintenance activities in some phases of the field. In the past two years, Iran's oil and gas output has seen a significant boost, with daily oil production now standing at around 4 million barrels and gas accounting for 70% of the country's energy basket.
The launch of new phases, including 13, 14, and 22-24, is expected to further boost gas production from South Pars. Manouchehri expressed satisfaction with the progress made in negotiations with international companies on the development of Iranian oil and gas fields.
