South Pars Phase 11 Aims for Full Output Capacity Within Two Months
The South Pars Phase 11 project in the Persian Gulf is nearing its full output capacity of over 1 Bcf/d, according to a report from Shana News Agency on August 3. Project head Keyvan Tariqati expects this milestone to be reached within the next two months.
The project's current nameplate production capacity is expected to be surpassed with the completion of drilling operations. After reaching full output, the focus will shift to production stabilization while drilling continues on the second block.
Pars Oil and Gas Co. (POGC) is managing the project on behalf of National Iranian Oil Co. (NIOC), which has an estimated cost of close to $4 billion. POGC is fabricating and installing offshore facilities at two border locations, drilling 27 wells, with eleven currently in production.
