Soy Market Poised to Grow as Corn Faces Price Pressure

The Ukrainian soy market is poised for growth this season, according to analysts at PUSK cooperative. The crop has maintained its competitive advantages among export crops due to high demand from processors and flexible logistics options.

In fact, soy has been one of the few crops that provided stable profitability for producers in the previous three seasons, 2022-2024. It can be sold both domestically and internationally, with access to road and rail logistics as well as demand at Danube ports.

Unlike corn, which is expected to face price pressure at the beginning of the new marketing year, soy has more chances to become more expensive during the second half of the season. Some processing plants are already announcing prices for the new soy crop at around 17-18 thousand UAH/ton, with potential for even higher prices under certain logistic conditions.
