Soybeans Prove Resilient Amid Ukraine Logistical Challenges
Soybean exports from Ukraine remain strong despite logistical challenges in the country. The crop's flexible logistics options, including transportation by road and rail, have made it easier for farmers to sell their soybeans either domestically or for export.
The analysts at PUSK, a Ukrainian agricultural cooperative, expect soybean prices to grow further this season. They note that soybeans are one of the few crops that have consistently generated profits for farmers over the past three seasons, including 2022-2024.
The analysts predict that corn supplies will exceed demand in the coming months, putting downward pressure on prices. In contrast, soybean demand remains strong, with processors offering around 17-18 thousand UAH per ton for new-crop soybeans. The market could potentially reach 20-22 thousand UAH per ton under certain logistical conditions.
