Spot Natural Gas Prices Soar in Türkiye Amid Increased Trade Volume

Türkiye's spot natural gas market saw significant activity on Monday, August 3. According to data from Türkiye's Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST), the trade volume increased by 148.7% compared to Sunday, reaching around 23.7 Turkish million liras. This represents a substantial spike in trading activity.

The price of natural gas on the spot market also saw an increase, with 1,000 cubic meters costing 17,226.96 Turkish liras on Monday. The cumulative natural gas trade volume for the day was approximately 1.38 million cubic meters.

Türkiye received around 87.32 million cubic meters of gas on Monday. The exchange rate at the time was US$1 equals 47.55 liras, which is a crucial factor in determining prices and trading volumes.
