Monday's market opened with a boost in stock futures and a dip in oil prices. The US halted strikes over the weekend, sparking early optimism about potential negotiations with Iran. S&P 500 futures surged at the open, initially rising 60 points but quickly paring that to 50 points.

Nasdaq futures led the way, up 1.4%, while Brent crude and WTI prices dropped by 5% and 4%, respectively. The decline in WTI extended to $83.80 after hitting $88.22, a 6% drop from Friday's close.

The FX market had flagged this type of open earlier, but the challenge now is sustaining gains throughout the day. Market analysts will be watching for word from Trump regarding the next steps for negotiations with Iran, fearing a potential squeeze that may not last.
