Stocks Edge Higher Amid Middle East Tensions, Crude Prices Fall
Stocks on Wall Street edged higher Friday despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East that threatened to disrupt global oil supplies.
The S&P 500 rose by 0.1%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 62 points, and the Nasdaq composite slipped 0.1%.
Brent crude prices fell 2.6% for the first time in a week, after reaching $102 per barrel a day earlier, and U.S. benchmark crude dropped by $2.43 to $89.76 per barrel.
