Stocks Rebound as Crude Oil Prices Retreat
The stock market experienced a slight relief on Friday as crude oil prices retreated. Dow Jones futures rose by 0.5%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures advanced 0.3% and 0.15%, respectively.
Intel, MaxLinear, Comfort Systems, and SpaceX were among the stocks moving in response to news before the opening bell. Intel's earnings exceeded expectations, with the company guiding higher revenue for the next quarter. As a result, INTC stock rose by 3% in premarket action, after initially increasing over 10% on Thursday evening.
However, the tech-heavy Nasdaq index tumbled to undercut June lows during intraday trading, with Alphabet and Tesla triggering significant losses among their peers. Despite this, many AI stocks rebounded due to heavy capital expenditures, bucking the broader market trend.
