Stocks Rise on Slumping Crude Prices and Lower Bond Yields
The stock market has seen a rise in indices today, supported by declining crude oil prices and lower bond yields. The S&P 500 Index is up 0.16%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 0.12%. The Nasdaq 100 Index, however, is leading the gains with a 0.51% increase.
The decline in WTI crude oil prices has eased inflation expectations and pushed bond yields lower. This has contributed to the rise in stock indices today. Additionally, chipmakers and AI-infrastructure stocks have moved higher, rebounding from recent weakness.
Nvidia's upcoming quarterly earnings results after close on Wednesday may also be contributing to the short covering seen in chipmakers ahead of the release.
