Stocks Waver as Oil Prices Fall for First Time in a Week
Stocks on Wall Street wavered on Friday as crude oil prices fell for the first time in a week.
The S&P 500 index dropped 0.1%, putting it on track for its second consecutive weekly loss since March, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 76 points or 0.2%.
Brent crude, the international standard, fell 2.8% to $97.89 after moving back above $100 on Thursday.
The decline in oil prices and easing bond yields helped relieve some of the pressure on stocks, which have been impacted by a sharp escalation in the US war with Iran and a fresh round of tariffs on dozens of nations.
