Strait of Hormuz Uncertainty Pushes Oil Prices Higher
Oil prices have continued their upward trend, rising again amidst uncertainty over the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. According to Reuters, Brent crude futures increased by $1.20, or 1.44%, to trade at $84.79 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude also rose by $1.08, or 1.12%, to reach $79.29 per barrel.
The Strait of Hormuz has been a focal point for oil markets due to its strategic importance as a shipping route for Middle Eastern oil exports. The uncertainty surrounding its reopening has contributed to the recent price increases.
