Sukkur Commissioner Ensures Wheat Flour Sold at Fixed Official Rates
Divisional Commissioner Sukkur Abid Saleem Qureshi has directed that wheat flour be sold at fixed official rates across the division to provide relief to the public, particularly low-income families. This directive was given during a meeting with Deputy Commissioners and flour mill owners on August 5.
The meeting reviewed the availability of wheat and flour, as well as measures to prevent hoarding. Commissioner Qureshi noted that effective action against wheat hoarding has resulted in a significant decrease in wheat prices, and it is essential to pass this benefit on to consumers by selling flour at fixed rates.
Qureshi directed Deputy Commissioners to monitor prices in their respective districts and take legal action against those violating the official rates. He also urged flour mill owners to cooperate with the administration to discourage profiteering and artificial shortages.
