Sukkur Officials Clamp Down on Wheat Flour Prices Amid Hoarding Crackdown

Divisional Commissioner Sukkur Abid Saleem Qureshi has directed that wheat flour be sold at fixed official rates across the division, aiming to provide relief to low-income households. The directive comes after a meeting with Deputy Commissioners, flour mill owners, and Food Department officials.

The sale of wheat flour at fixed official rates will help pass on benefits from decreasing wheat prices to consumers. According to Qureshi, effective measures against wheat hoarding have led to a significant decrease in market prices.

Qureshi instructed Deputy Commissioners to monitor prices in their districts and take action against those selling above the official rate. He also urged flour mill owners to cooperate with the administration to prevent profiteering and artificial shortages.
