Sunflower Oil Exports Under Pressure as Supply Increases
Ukraine's sunflower oil exports are facing pressure from increasing supply and falling demand in key markets. According to recent data, Indian demand prices for sunflower oil fell by $30/t to $1,440/t CIF Mumbai due to a sharp increase in supply from the Black Sea region.
Demand prices for Russian sunflower oil also decreased by $30-40/t to $1,250-1,260/t FOB, which has put additional pressure on Ukrainian prices. In Ukraine, demand prices fell by $30-40/t to $1,200-1,220/t per week for delivery to Danube ports.
The export prospects for sunflower oil from Ukraine are also limited due to the ongoing conflict with Russia. The lack of hope for a ceasefire has blocked exports from Black Sea ports, and there is a threat of strikes on grain elevators and oil extraction plants, which is limiting the work of processing enterprises.
