Sungrow Leads Industry Price Hike Wave with 5-15% Increase
Sungrow, a global leader in solar and energy storage, has raised prices for its full line of inverters, energy storage converters, and energy storage systems by 5% to 15%, with medium-voltage grid-tied inverters and integrated energy storage converters seeing the highest increase of up to 15%. This is Sungrow's second price adjustment within the year.
The price hike is attributed to rising costs of bulk materials such as copper, aluminum, and lithium carbonate. The prices of these materials have increased significantly in recent months, with lithium carbonate alone rising by over 200% from RMB 60,000/ton in mid-2025 to RMB 210,000/ton in May 2026.
The increase in material costs is not the only factor contributing to the price hike. The explosive growth of AI computing power has squeezed wafer production capacity, leading to a shortage of key components such as memory chips and IGBTs. The prices of these components have increased by 50% to 800%, further driving up costs.
The price adjustment is not an isolated incident. Many other companies in the energy storage industry have also raised their prices in recent months, including EVE Energy, Sinexcel, Inovance, and East.
