SVG Seeks Redemption at Iowa Speedway
New Zealand racing driver Shane van Gisbergen is set to compete in his second NASCAR Cup Series event at Iowa Speedway this weekend. The Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol will be held on a 0.875-mile short track, where van Gisbergen finished 31st last year after contact with the wall.
Van Gisbergen expressed confidence about his chances in an interview, attributing recent improvements to better qualifying performances and car setup. He acknowledged that the team needs to be more consistent on bad days to maximize points.
With four races remaining in the season, van Gisbergen enters the Iowa event 15th in the Cup Series driver standings, 57 points above The Chase cutline.
