Syrian Gold Price Surges 200 Pounds Amid Stable Global Market
The price of gold in Syria's local market has seen a significant increase. According to the General Directorate for Precious Metals Management, the selling price of one gram of 21-karat gold rose by 200 Syrian pounds (SYP) on Monday compared to the previous day's level.
The selling and buying prices for 21-karat gold are now 15,000 SYP and 14,700 SYP per gram respectively. For 18-karat gold, the selling price is 12,900 SYP per gram, while the buying price stands at 12,600 SYP.
The global gold price remains steady at $4,059 per ounce. The General Directorate for Precious Metals Management was established in Syria on February 12, 2025, with the goal of regulating and developing the gold and precious metals sector to strengthen its role in the national economy.
